An immersive dinner experience at Sony Pictures Studios

Instead of putting Canva’s product story into a presentation, we put it into the room.

For Canva Create 2026, we transformed an executive dinner into Canva Supper Club: an immersive evening built around the journey of a great idea: from spark, to collaboration, to scale.

MY ROLE

As Creative Director, I shaped the experience from concept through execution, developing the narrative, guest journey, character interactions, scripted moments, visual details and overall creative direction.

I also worked closely across design, production, talent and show direction to make sure every beat actually worked live.

So what I normally do day to day… but with significantly more questions about entrances, timing and whether six Marilyn Monroes was enough Marilyn Monroes.

DINNER AS STORYTELLING

The dinner unfolded in chapters tied to Canva’s creative process, with guests moving through Sony Pictures Studios before entering the transformed Supper Club.

Each course pushed the story forward through projection, service, hosting and performance, with magic and storytelling led by Magic Mike, who is an incredible performer as well as creative partner in this project.

During dinner, guests essentially live-created a campaign together in the room , building it piece by piece through prompts, choices and collaboration. Then we took the campaign they’d invented on the spot, treated it as if it were actually going to market, and built a full pre-launch campaign report around it.

THE RESULT

The goal was never spectacle for spectacle’s sake. Every strange, funny and theatrical choice had a job to do: make Canva feel more human, more memorable and much more interesting than another executive dinner.

My favorite part was watching all the tiny decisions finally become one thing: a room full of people laughing, participating and genuinely curious about what was going to happen next. That’s the stuff you can’t really put on a moodboard.

BUILDING THE WORLD

Happy hour featured a cast of larger-than-life characters, each collecting different prompts from guests.

I created their personas, objectives, opening lines and improv guardrails so talent had enough structure to stay on story, and enough freedom to actually be funny.

A Broadcaster. A Tycoon. A Noir Detective. A Starlet.

Normal corporate event stuff.

THE DETAILS

Menus, tablescapes, signage, place cards, props and guest touchpoints all carried the same colorful, elevated point of view.

We made every detail feel intentional, playful and still something Canva’s own executives would greenlight…while still feeling right for a room full of Fortune 500 executives.
